I designed and built early prototypes for innovative cold therapy products. As the first and only design/engineering hire at the time, I took the lead on:

  • User research

  • Competitive analysis

  • Product definition

  • ‘looks-like’ models

  • ‘works-like’ prototypes

This hands-on role allowed me to shape products from concept to functional prototypes, ensuring both usability and innovation.

I designed a new ice pack that stays cold 4x longer using creative materials and the power of phase change.

Iterated design and worked with a manufacturer to develop hi-fi prototypes.

ice packs

Made lo-fi prototypes and tested with 10+ users, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists.

I spoke with orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists to identify the biggest pain points with post-op cold therapy units, ensuring the design addressed real user needs and clinical challenges.

iceless units

Designed “looks-like” renders for an iceless cold therapy unit

Built works-like prototypes for an iceless unit and on-body pad that heats and cools

Created an app prototype (with an intern!) to control on-body pad that heats and cools:

Proposed cold therapy product roadmap. Here’s one matrix comparing development concepts:
